HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMY!

Amy, Even though I don't get to spend much time with you, the blogspot is the best way to stay in touch with stories and pictures. This is your day and I can't be with you today, so this blog is for you!
Looking at your scrapbook, and seeing how much you have grown, all sorts of memories flash in my mind.
As our baby, you were the sweetest and happiest baby we had. As you grew, you blossomed into a fun and daring person. You have always been my child that would risk everything, for something that you wanted. You threw caution to the wind, when it came to fun, friends, love and happiness.
But you never gave up on your family. You have always put us first.
In your 31 years, I know things have been tough, sad, scary, happy and wonderful. You have been so strong in adversity. You have made me very proud. I love your strength, your determination to make things better. I love how you are with the kids. I love how you stand by your man.
You may be another year older...but you're still my little girl. I love you, Babe.

MOMMY DAY!

Tuesday was Tricia's birthday, but I had selfish reasons for spending the day with her. I know, I know...she is a grown girl but since I suffer from empty nest syndrome, I miss spending time with my her.
I actually miss spending time with all my kids. So Mommy time, is really important to me. Those days are getting farther and fewer away.
But anyway, to get back to my story....Trish and I spent the whole day shopping. The time went so fast. I got to her house about 10:45 AM. We talked a bit then set out to do some damage.
Actually, I did the most damage....as always, I spent too much money. But I had gift cards from Christmas, and they were burning a hole in my wallet. Tricia kind of came along. We spent most of our time at Tai Pan Trading. We tried to cover alot of territory in a very short time.
Boy, did the time fly by!
We went to our favorite place! Red Lobster! Thanks to my friend Heather, (she gave me a gift certificate) I got to take Trish, there, for her special day.
It may seem silly, but just talking and looking for things in the stores, that we probably really didn't need, was so much fun.
We took alot of self portraits and pictures of the store fronts, we shopped in. Of course we missed a few because we were talking instead of paying attention.
People were watching us, thinking we were nuts for taking pictures of the stores, but it was fun.
My camera went dead, so some of these pictures are a mix of mine and Tricia's.
Tricia is going to add her side of the story, so there is more to come.
To be continued......

Tai Pan is one of our favorite stores. We spent alot of time, here.

Aren't we cute?

Isn't she beautiful?

Roberts was actually after Cosco. But we got so excited at Cosco, we forgot to take pictures. (It's the little things :)

This picture has one of those stories, where you had to be there to really appreciate it. I laughed so hard after it was taken. It brought me to tears. Don't ask me why I look like that...but when Tricia saw it she told me "NEVER do that again". I think her tone and the way she looked, when she saw the picture, was the hysterical part. Normally I would delete a rediculous picture, like that. But it will always be one of those memories, where you laugh all over again, when you think about it.
Tricia's side.... Well it's kind of an inside joke cause every time Matt and I take pictures I can never get him to make a normal face... SO, I always say to him "never do that again". It's all in good fun, but mom is right, it's the way I said it I guess cause I laugh hysterically over it too. The best part is it just came out of my mouth like no big deal. :) I'm really not rude. I promise!... By the way... Some dude was staring at us in his truck while we took these shots. I know he thought we were so wierd for taking self portraits in front of a Roberts.) Who does that anyways???

Of course! One of everyone's favorite restaurants! Red Lobster!

Our smiling faces, after a wonderful lunch.

I was trying to get the perfect facials, not knowing Tricia found hers!

We went to the mall, after lunch.
Because we didn't want to look completely weird, we didn't take pictures of all the stores we shopped in. People have a tendancy to look at you funny, when you do things like that. We visited Penny's, Maurices, Image Pro, American Eagle and Bath and Body Works. We bought something, from each store, (except Image Pro. Geez they are expensive)

After the Mall we headed to Krumpets and Target. Krumpets had a million cute things, but nothing we had set out for. Target was the last stop of our eventful day. We both did some major damage to the wallet, but the memories made were by far the best part!! Whenever my mom and I get together it's always fun.
Thank you Mom for always doing whatever you can to make my Birthday special. You always let me know how important I am to you. I know you thought this birthday was kinda simple, but it was so fun to me. I love you. Thanks again for a WONDERFUL birthday. I'm so lucky.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BABY!

Happy Birthday Trish.
It is so hard to believe that you are no longer that tiny little girl I gave birth to, 25 years ago. In looking at your baby scrapbooks, it really takes me back, to when you came into our lives.
We had some trouble, to start...but you were so worth it. Justin, Amy, Bob and I are very proud to have been given, to us, such a treasure.

My Blessings

Tricia bought me a Cricut, for Christmas, a few years ago. I have been using it for some of my scrapbooks, my wood crafts and other projects. It is a blast, to work with! Kristi (she doesn't know this, yet) has inspired me to do more with it. After reading her blog about her "project" I decided to be more creative. I racked my brain. I searched the internet. I listened to what other people have done and decided on a special project.
It took me all dang day, to come up with the perfect saying. Then I found that perfect one. The one that said it all. I started the process of cutting the letters out. I practiced a bit, on regular paper. Vinyl lettering is very expensive.
Of course, my way isn't as cool as the sayings you can buy at the stores, or order on line, because the letters are not all on one sheet. It is time consuming,to make each individual letter, tape it to the right spot on the wall and keeping the lines straight.
Bob let me use his lazer light (very cool tool, by the way)to make the lines straight.
I thought I found the perfect place....But when I got all the letters on the wall, I found they were crammed to tight in a little space. By this time, I was getting frustrated. (Yeah, Kristi, I got your look several times that afternoon :)
But lo and behold, my hero showed up, just in time, to help me.

MY HERO....Thanks Matt

He's doing so good

The finish project!

Isn't it the coolest thing? It says exactly how I feel. My Family, those I care about, and my home are my blessings.

Tricia had the right idea. LOL
